Restaurants in Karnataka

The Karnatakan cuisine includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The cuisine shows the influence of three neighboring South Indian states, as well as the state of Maharashtra in its north. Some typical dishes of Karnataka include: Bisi bele bath, Ragi rotti, Akki rotti, Saaru, Ragi mudde and Uppittu. The famous Masala Dosa traces its origin to Udipi cuisine. The Restaurants in Karnataka comprises of both vegatarian restaurants and non-vegetarian restaurants. The present restaurants in Karnataka can be divided into following types:
  • Cafe : the cafes in Karnataka are mostly of the multi-cuisine variety, but there are some cafes that have certain specialization. Like the Bedouin Cafe serves dishes from Middle East. The Cake Shop is specialized in Indian dishes while Cafe Sahyadri specializes in South Indian cuisine. De Lekkerbek has a wonderful collection Continental dishes. The multi-cuisine restaurants are Brooks, Coffee Shop, Lake View Milk Bar and others.

  • Restaurant: the same divisions of cafes are also prevalent in case of restaurants. The restaurants in Karnataka are categorized primarily according to the dishes they serve. The most common of the types of restaurants is the Multi-cuisine restaurant. There are also also, Continental, Korean, South Indian and North Indian restaurants. Some of the famous restaurants in Karnataka are: 20 Feet High, Aathithya, Asean that serves pan-American dishes, Biryani Merchant with North India dishes, the Italian restaurant Elements eatery and the Korean restaurant Hae Kum Gang.
  • Fast Food: the fast food corners can similarly be categorized into multi-cuisine, western, mughlai and such others. Aloha is a popular multi cuisine fast food center in Bangalore, Cake Shop of the Taj is famous for its western collection of cakes, pastries and other snacks. Hamza serves mughlai dishes. .

  • Restaurant and Bar : it is said that restaurants and bars are found at very nooks and corners of the Capital city of Karnataka, Bangalore. Some of the popular are : 24 Carat, Aura and such others.
