  • Halebid: This is one of the prime tourist sites in Karnataka famous for its Hoyasaleswara temple, which is a magnificent instance of Hoysala art and architecture. The construction of this temple started in AD 1121 and continued till 90 years, but never got completed. The temple’s walls is covered by statues of numerous types of Hindu deities, animals and birds, sages, etc. The Hoyasaleswara temple is beautifully enclosed by a garden and a museum is situated nearby.
  • Belur: Belur is located about 38 km from Hassan. Belur is famous for its Channekeshava Temple which is one of the three major Hoysala sites that is still in use till today. The temple’s construction started in AD 1116 for honoring the Hoysala's victory at Talakad over the Cholas. It is said that in this temple every Hindu deity has been represented.

  • Sravanabelgola: this place is famous for the tallest monolithic statue in the world of Lord Bahubali (Gommateshwara).
